Automobili Pininfarina introduces B95 as the world’s first all-electric, open-top hyper Barchetta that follows in the footsteps of and shares its car design with the PURA Vision concept vehicle. B95 makes its world premiere at Monterey Car Week 2023 from August 17th to 20th, presented alongside the Battista Edizione Nino Farina hyper GT, which debuted at Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2023 as well as the recently launched PURA Vision design concept. Only 10 bespoke examples of B95 are to be crafted for collectors worldwide.

Full-width enveloping bodywork that wraps into the front fenders represents the B95 design. The exterior body has a muscular appearance due to the prominent swage line, and it gives passengers a sense of security and comfort while also bringing them closer to their surroundings from inside the cabin. Automobili Pininfarina B95 contrasts the simple lines with intricate technical elements, allowing the sleek body with wide access to the cabin to be highlighted as the DNA of the world’s first all-electric, open-top hyper Barchetta.

The main body of the Automobili Pininfarina B95 is painted in a metallic color called Bronzo Superga, which contrasts with a bright yellow section at the front and on top of the driver’s area. The car also uses a special kind of textured black material that gives it a 3D look, especially on the front and rear parts. The car’s exterior is glossy and has layers of paint that make it glisten. During the day, the accents on the car look gold, but at night they appear more bronze, making the car seem like it changes color depending on the time.

The car has new wheels that are larger in the front and slightly smaller in the back – they are finished in a matte black color – and the middle parts of the wheels are brushed aluminum and black. The brake parts are also a bright yellow color, matching the accents on the exterior. Inside the car, the design is a mix of classic racing style and futuristic elements. The spacious dashboard seems to flow from the outside of the car into the cabin, and is covered in tan leather alongside the seats.

Strong wheel arches highlight the Automobili Pininfarina B95 shape, enabling the design team to give the relationship between the arches and the bodyside more contour. When viewed from above, the PURA design element is obvious as the Automobili Pininfarina design team worked on the interior area without a glasshouse and with an encircling loop that includes the seats, movable aero screens, and domes behind each passenger.

In this interpretation, the world’s first all-electric, open-top hyper Barchetta is defined by four distinct lines that connect to the PURA Vision idea. The B95 also features the first electronically adjustable aero screens in an open-top vehicle, and taking inspiration from vintage fighter planes, the clear polycarbonate design features intricately engineered and exposed aluminum support that can be raised and lowered by the driver. Customers can also request custom helmets with a finish that matches their preferred B95 specification.

Specs buffs might appreciate the acceleration speed of the world’s first all-electric, open-top hyper Barchetta which can go from zero to 60mph in less than two seconds. The Automobili Pininfarina B95 can reach a top speed of more than 300km/h and has a high-capacity 120 kWh lithium-ion battery that can generate a peak power of 1,400 kW. The T-shaped battery pack, which is liquid-cooled, is protected by a strong and lightweight carbon fiber housing and can be charged at 20 to 80 percent in under 25 minutes using fast chargers.
